woe is me

Transfer from my journal.

So of course, knowing my luck with things involving my teeth and jaw, my wisdom tooth surgery was re-scheduled. (Due to complications of course. /sarcasm)

I had last Friday off from school, and my mom took me to the jaw doctor at 8:30 am. When we got there, they took me into the surgery room, and even started looking for veins in my arms. The doctor couldn't find a vein in either arm, so he put a hot pack on my left arm to make it easier to see them. At the same time, I had an oxygen mask on my nose, and the doctor started talking to me about how the procedure was going to go down. I don't remember everything he said, but I know I started freaking out when he said I wouldn't be completely asleep. NEWS TO ME! He described it as a "Twilight Sleep", but the only thing I think of when I hear that is Wolf Link.

Again, me freaking out, and my mom and Doctor getting concerned for my safety, we decided it would be better for everyone if I was completely conked out during the procedure. My surgery was re-scheduled for Wednesday February 3rd 2010. Instead of going to the jaw doctor, I'm going to a surgical center. I hope I do better than I did last Friday. It sure wasn't pretty. Did I mention that all 4 of my wisdom teeth are impacted AND I have an extra tooth? That, plus I have Temporomandibular Joint Disorder / Arthritis in my jaw. I just need a new mouth completely. That would solve all my problems.

Winter Vacation

Transfer from my journal

Over winter vacation, I hung out with my friends a lot, and it was a fun time indeed. I even got to see one of my best friends I hadn't seen in forever (because we live kinda far away from each other) Prince Erik. Because our time off from school overlapped, we planned to hang out! First, we convened at my house, and our friend Alex drove us (Me, Erik, Jen, and himself) to another friend's house, where we were meeting even more people! We stayed there for maybe 2 hours, and then the people dispersed. Jen, Erik, and I went back to my house. They were sleeping over. That night, we had planned to go see the new Sherlock Holmes movie in King of Prussia with our friend, lets call him Mamma Joe. When he arrived at my house in his small car, whom we had named Alejandro just the night before, it turned out that there were already four people in the car.

Usually we don't mind sharing seats if we have to, but we had to cram seven people into a 5-seat car! It was quite a feat. We managed to squeeze five people into the back 3 seats of Alejandro. Luckily it was dark out, so no one could really see into the windows while we were driving around. I'm sure it looked akin to a clown car when we all piled out into the movie theater parking lot. And getting home? Boy what a night.

This year is over already?

December 12, 2009
Transfer from my journal.

This year flew by so fast. Its as if the older I get, the faster time goes by. Not only that, but a lot more happens in the span of a year. I remember as a child, though the years have blended together in my memory, dragged on for quite a while, and many of my days were routine. Not all of them, though, by any means. Young me had plenty of hectic days. Now, at the end of every year, I find myself saying

"Wow! This year went by so fast!"

And it truly feels so. Even though I know that it isn't true: every year is the same length, time and time again. Maybe they're just seeming to go by faster because I'm having more fun? I hope so. I just hope that the time doesn't fly by so fast that I'm my parent's age before I know it. I know I'm going to miss being a kid.

I think I'd like to savor my youth as long as possible. At least I still look and act like a twelve-year-old boy most of the time.

Sick of being Sick

October 12, 2009
Transfer from my journal.

I'm sick of being sick. First I got a virus that lasted for about 2 days, but I got better and went back to school fine. Then, 6 days later, not even a week, I was hit (repeatedly in the face) with "swine flu". At least, the hospital said it was swine flu. I remain skeptical, but I sure felt sick enough to believe them.
I went to the ER at the hospital after I spiked a fever of 104 degrees. They tested me for swine flu by "swabbing" my nasal cavity. It felt like they were stabbing my brain through my face, or more specifically, my nose. It reminded me an awful lot of the method used to remove a person's brain before they were to be mummified.
To sum it up, not a pleasant experience. The only up side to this sad trip to the hospital was that I got one of those cool hospital patient bracelets. I kept it, and plan on wearing it for fun.
After that, my health seemed to be going up hill, slowly getting better, but then, I fell off the cliff of healthfulness again. My health declined, and I had new symptoms that sure hurt a lot more than the previous! After a while, my mom got worried, took me to the doctor again, and I had to get blood tests done! Did I mention that I have a legit phobia of medical needles? So, anyway, after the usual ritual of me freaking out, and my mom forcibly holding me down, the nurse could finally stick me and draw my blood. Several vials, I might add.
After a couple of days, we got the anticipated call from Mr. Doctor Man. Turns out, I had an acute case of Mono. In other words, I had a really, really especially bad case of Mono. Sucks to be me.
Still sick of being sick.

(And I'm just going to add that I missed a month and a week of school. like woah.)

Introduction

Welcome to my blog! You can call me Prince, or even just Dusty. I'm sure a lot of you will be coming here from my youtube, but to those who have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure you'll get to know me. (Or at least my writing).

It's my senior year of high school, and I'm taking Writer's Craft, and we are required to write 10 pages of whatever every week. I've noticed as of late, a lot of what I've been writing in my journal sounds an awful lot like a blog, so I figured, "Hey, why not?".

And here it is. Welcome to my world.
